Dinner at Cosses Country House is the highlight for many of our guests. Susan Crosthwaite is an award winning chef and guests can expect beautiful 4 course meals. Menus vary depending on the season. All our food is home grown and sourced locally including the Ballantrae Prawns, Ayrshire Potatoes, Cosses home made oatcakes and Crailoch Pheasant.
Menus vary from day to day, so please advise us of any special requirements when you make a booking. A typical evening at Cosses will start with drinks in front of the log fire, meeting other guests and your hosts, followed by dinner then Scottish cheese and coffee.
Cosses Country House is licensed, and we have an extensive collection of wines and single malt whisky for guests to choose from.
We offer a wide choice of menu for breakfast from the traditional Full Scottish to delicious Shirred Eggs. With an emphasis on healthy eating we provide home- made fruit and vegetable juices, fresh fruit salad, home-made muesli and yoghurt, as well as home-made bread and preserves.

Upon your arrival afternoon tea with home made scones and cakes may be served on the patio in the secluded garden (weather permitting!). We can also provide picnics if you wish to spend the day at the beach or explore the wonderful countryside.
We can recommend dining out at some excellent local venues should you wish to try something different. For a special occasion why not try savouring the gourmet menu provided by Head Chef Adam Stokes at Glenapp Castle. We can provide transport.
Visit the Tea Rooms at?Glenapp Castle estate to enjoy Tea and Scones, clotted cream and jam, a wondrous crab salad, ginger cake or a leisurely Hendricks cocktail. Open 11am to 5pm.
Susan Crosthwaite has written a book ‘A Country Cook’s Garden in South West Scotland’ with wonderful recipes showing how she uses local produce and fresh vegetables from her garden. It is a guide to all that is best to see and do in South West Scotland, including a lot of local history (without the boring bits!)
